Jan Bulis returned to Montreal with a goal and an assist in a 4-0 Vancouver victory over his former team.

The Canucks have now won nine of their last 10 games and moved into first place in the Northwest division, one point ahead of the Calgary Flames.

It was also a good night for Montreal-born Roberto Luongo, who picked up his third shutout of the season and the 30th of his career.

You can add to that a successful return for Canuck head coach Alain Vigneault, who coached the Habs for three years.

The Canucks came out skating, and out-hustled and out-hit the Habs, grabbing an early 2-0 lead and then controlling much of the game.

Fans in Montreal were not pleased with their team and didn't hesitate to show their displeasure with boos after the first period.

Montreal has now lost five of its last eight games, and the team's futility against the Canucks was extended to 10 games without a win since beating the Canucks 4-3 on Nov. 30, 2000.

Vancouver continues its four-game road trip in Ottawa tomorrow and then wraps it up in Buffalo Friday before the all-star break.
