"Cookie," "Nazzy" and "Mo" will lead the Vancouver Canucks into tonight's game with the Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes at General Motors Place (7 p.m. Team 1040/Sportsnet).

The combination of Matt Cooke, Markus Naslund and Brendan Morrison is the latest desperate attempt by head coach Alain Vigneault to kickstart scoring on the league's second-worst offensive club.

Canucks have 59 goals, only one better than the Columbus Blue Jackets.

"Morrison and Markus are elite players in this league and they know we need their contribution," Vigneault said.

Goal-starved Jan Bulis, who hasn't scored in 13 games, is joining Daniel and Henrik Sedin. Ryan Kesler will play with Alexandre Burrows and Trevor Linden. The fourth line consists of Marc Chouinard, Tommi Santala and Tyler Bouck.

Rod Brind'Amour leads the Hurricanes with 10 goals and 26 assists but is a questionable starter after an injury. The club is 15-15 (including three tiebreaker losses) and has scored as many goals as it has allowed (94).

Like the Canucks, Carolina is 5-5 in its last 10 games.

Canucks visit the Calgary Flames tomorrow (7 p.m. Team 1040/CBC) in Vancouver's only away game during the first half of December.
