Manitoba Moose captain Mike Keane played his 1,400th professional game on Sunday, scoring once in the 5-2 American Hockey League loss to the Philadelphia Phantoms.

The Winnipeg native played for the Montreal Canadiens, Colorado Avalanche, New York Rangers, Dallas Stars, St. Louis Blues and Manitoba's parent, the Canucks.

The Moose were 2-2 last week, beating Hershey Bears in overtime before dropping two of three to the Phantoms. Canucks' prospects Jason Jaffray, Lee Goren and Brad Moran combined to beat Philadelphia 3-1 on Friday.

The Moose began a four-game homestand last night against the Rochester Americans.

Canucks' ECHL affiliate Victoria Salmon Kings were 9-6 losers to the Alaska Aces on Saturday. Victoria scored four times in a six-minute third period span. Canuck prospect Julien Ellis suffered the loss.

Victoria, 7-11 including a shootout loss, is in eighth place in the 10-team National conference. The Boston Bruins-affiliated Long Beach Ice Dogs visit for a trio beginning tonight. Salmon Kings travel to meet Phoenix Roadrunners, Long Beach, Bakersfield Condors and Fresno Falcons before Christmas.

Meanwhile, it's been almost a month since Crown counsel received a Victoria police report on rape allegations leveled against Salmon Kings players. Prosecutors must decide if charges serve the public interest and whether conviction is likely.
