CALGARY FLAMES AT VANCOUVER CANUCKS

TONIGHT AT 8 P.M., TV: PPV, RADIO: FAN 960

COMING IN:

The Flames (20-11-4) and Canucks (20-10-5) battled Friday night in their first of two straight contests at GM Place to bookend their Christmas break. Calgary came away with a 6-5 victory thanks to shootout goals from F Steve Reinprecht -- who had a three-point night in regulation -- and F Tony Amonte.

HEAD-TO-HEAD:

The Flames have won all three of their meetings this season and hold an all-time edge of 87-48-26-1.

- - -

WHO'S HOT:

FLAMES -- F Steve Reinprecht had two third-period goals and a helper Friday in Vancouver.

CANUCKS -- Vancouver's top line of F Todd Bertuzzi, F Markus Naslund and F Brendan Morrison combined for nine points Friday.

- - -

WHO'S NOT:

FLAMES -- Flames F Shean Donovan had four shots Friday but still hasn't broken out of his 31-game goal scoring slump.

CANUCKS -- D Mattias Ohlund had trouble against the Flames' top line and was a team worst minus-3 Friday.

- - -

SPECIAL TEAMS:

POWERPLAY-- Calgary 16.0% (34-213, 18th), Vancouver 18.6% (45-242, 13th).

PENALTY KILLING -- Calgary 82.1% (39-218, 18th), Vancouver 82.2% (38-213, 17th).

- - -

INJURIES:

FLAMES -- D Roman Hamrlik (knee) is out. D Rhett Warrener (knee) is doubtful. F Stephane Yelle (ankle) is day-to-day.

CANUCKS -- D Nolan Baumgartner (finger) is questionable. F Tyler Bouck (groin) and F Jason King (concussion) are out indefinitely. G Dan Cloutier (knee) is out until spring.

- - -

NOTABLES:

If the knee injury Flames D Rhett Warrener suffered seconds into Friday's game is as serious as it seemed, a blueliner will likely be brought up from AHL Omaha to take his spot. D Mark Giordano is the likely candidate. He has four goals and 20 assists with the Knights in 34 games this season.
