Vancouver Canucks are California Dreaming after Sunday's impressive 4-1 win over the league-leading Detroit Red Wings.

They make their first foray into the Golden State for three games beginning tomorrow night. They better enjoy it now, because the stakes will be higher when they play there again during the waning weeks of the season in April.

Canucks make their first visit to the HP Pavilion - better known as the Shark Tank - in San Jose tomorrow night to face the Sharks. The team in teal is 8-7-2 and fighting with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim to stay out of the Pacific Division cellar.

The Canucks then head south to La-la-land Thursday where they'll meet the Pacific Division-leading Kings. Los Angeles, 12-5-1, is benefiting from blue liner Lubomir Visnovsky's point proficiency. Grizzled vets Jeremy Roenick and Luc Robitaille are playing out their careers in the black and purple.

Canucks face former general manager Brian Burke's squad for the first time on Sunday afternoon in Anaheim. "Burky's" Mighty Ducks are coached by Randy Carlyle, the former Winnipeg Jets' defenceman who jumped ship from coaching the Canucks' farm team, Manitoba Moose.

Canucks return home Nov. 22 to host the Chicago Blackhawks.
