Erik Cole, Michael Ryder get swapped for each other
Canadiens, Stars make a trade
By QMI Agency

Erik Cole, left, formerly of the Montreal Canadiens (DAVE ABEL/QMI Agency) and Michael Ryder (BEN PELOSSE/QMI Agency) swap cities in a trade Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013.

The Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday sent right winger Erik Cole to the Dallas Stars in exchange for winger Michael Ryder and a third-round draft pick in 2013.

Ryder, 32, has played in 19 games with Dallas this season, registering 14 points. He's also plus-4.

Since arriving in Montreal as a free agent in 2011, Cole has added 38 goals and 29 assists in 101 regular season games.

Ryder was drafted by the Canadiens in 1998 and played his first four NHL seasons in Montreal. He had 25 goals and 38 assists in 81 games as a rookie in 2003-04.

  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
