The Senators won’t be a player in the Rick Nash sweepstakes.

Not only are they not on the list of destinations the disgruntled Columbus Blue Jackets winger would be willing to waive his no-trade clause to accept a deal, the Senators aren’t in buying mode.

With Nash’s cap hit of $7.8 million through 2017-18, the Senators won’t be trying to hurry the rebuild by spending more money.

A league executive speculated to make a deal for Nash, the Senators would have to give up G Robin Lehner, prospect Mark Stone and two first-round picks. That’s not the route Murray wants to take.

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
  Yes, he's perfect
  No, he's not ready
  Bring him to Montreal!
