FIVE PLAYERS WHO COULD BE DEALT TODAY

Phoenix C Olli Jokinen: The Coyotes want to cut cash, but they also want to make a hockey deal and get less expensive help back. Five or six teams -- including Calgary -- have shown interest.

Toronto C Dominic Moore: Talks between the Leafs and Moore have gone nowhere. He rejected their latest offer Monday. Teams would like to bring him in to add depth for the playoffs.

Ottawa D Filip Kuba: He has attracted plenty of interest. A puck-mover at a relatively inexpensive price. He would waive his no-movement clause. He wants a shot at a Stanley Cup.

Edmonton LW Erik Cole: The two sides can't agree to a deal. He produced more while in the East. Has shown grit and a won a Cup with the Hurricanes. Teams like that experience.

Toronto C Nik Antropov: GM Brian Burke has dumped on Antropov ... it would be shocking if there wasn't a deal. Burke will lower his asking price today and there are plenty of teams looking for help in the middle.

DOPEY DEALS ...

A LOOK BACK AT HORRIBLE DEADLINE TRADES

- Boston deals Kris Versteeg to Chicago for Brandon Bochenski in 2007. Geez, bet they wish they could have a do-over on this stinker.

- Boston trades Sergei Samsonov to Edmonton for Marty Reasoner, Yan Stastny and a second-round draft choice in 2006. Reasoner and Stastny never amounted to much, but ... It's hard to project what a draft pick will turn out to be -- especially when it's a second-rounder -- but in this case, the Oilers could sure use the guy the Bruins selected with that pick, Milan Lucic.

- Atlanta deals Glen Metropolit and four draft picks to St. Louis for Keith Tkachuk in 2007. Atlanta wilted and Tkachuk re-signed with the Blues as a free agent.
