Vincent Lecavalier isn't going anywhere. While there was talk the Lightning star was going to be dealt tomorrow to the Oilers for three players, two prospects, two No. 1 picks and a third-rounder, GM Brian Lawton denied there was any deal on the table.

"It's just a pipe dream that people think we're going to trade him," said Lawton.

"We're excited about the way our team is playing and I don't think it's fair to continue to talk about these things. I've said he's not going to be traded and he hasn't been traded. Somebody just asked me if he's going to be traded on Monday? No, he won't. Not Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or any other day for that matter ... He loves Tampa Bay and that's why he made the commitment he did (signing an 11-year, $85-million contract extension)."

Montreal also loves Lecavalier, giving the hometown superstar a huge standing ovation before the Super Skills competition.

Dinged Wings are sore

Wings coach Mike Babock came out swinging after the league banned banged-up D Nicklas Lidstrom and C Pavel Datsyuk for one game for skipping all-star weekend.

"We're all about Detroit selling the league and we do a really good job of that and we have a really nice team. I think Lidstrom has been (at the all-star game) nine years in a row," said Babock. "He has some tendinitis in his elbow that he has been fighting all year long. I don't have a problem with (him missing this weekend). Pavel Datsyuk left a one-goal game after the first timeout in the third period.

"We're in the winning business," added Babock.

Commissioner Gary Bettman said injured players should be here, "helping support the league."

Isles be gone on Gerber

There was some belief the Islanders had an interest in Senators G Martin Gerber, but that's not the case. Isles GM Garth Snow told Sun Media the club isn't interested in Gerber, who cleared waivers. Another league executive suggested the Kings might look at Gerber or "perhaps somebody who just wants to have some insurance for the playoffs."
