NAPLES, FLA. -- Peter Forsberg hasn't ruled out a return to the NHL season.

A day after Forsberg's agent told GMs the Swedish superstar wouldn't return this season, Forsberg swung the door wide open in an interview with Swedish reporters last night.

"The (right) foot doesn't feel 100%," Forsberg said. "But there's still time a week left."

The Flyers are considered the frontrunners to land Forsberg, with the Senators, Canucks and Avs in the running.

"(Agent) Don Baizley said he is not certain that (Forsberg) is able to come back," Flyers GM Paul Holmgren told the Philadelphia Inquirer. "He didn't close the door completely. It's still open a crack ... Whether that means anything or not, I don't know."
