TORONTO - The Maple Leafs’ main man in pads is a dad.

Goalie Jonathan Bernier tweeted a picture of his new son on Monday, with the message “welcome into this world my little Tyler!” The six-and-a-half pound lad was born Saturday in Terrebonne, Que., to Bernier and Martine Forget and is the couple’s first child.

Jonathan Bernier spent the early part of the off-season dealing with a sports hernia operation, but is expected to be 100% by training camp next month. The 26-year-old set a team record with a .923 save percentage last season, his first year as a Leaf.
