If Peter Holland’s shots on the ice are as accurate as the one he hit on the golf course on Wednesday, the sky’s the limit for the young centre.

On the day his new two-year deal with the Maple Leafs was announced — one worth a reported $1.55 million US over the duration of the pact — Holland registered his first career hole-in-one while playing in the Cory Conacher Golf Tournament at the Flamborough Hills Golf & Country Club in Copetown, Ont.

Selecting an 8-iron on the par-3, Hills #3 166-yard hole, Holland’s tee shot made a beeline for the hole the moment it left the club. Like a guided missle, it tracked the pin before plopping directly into the cup.

No bounces required.

“It was amazing,” a jubilant Holland said in a phone interview. “It went straight into the hole on the fly — it didn’t even hit the green.
