The Toronto Maple Leafs have flipped defencemen with the St. Louis Blues.

At the NHL entry draft on Saturday morning, the Leafs traded Carl Gunnarsson and 94th pick this year to the Blues for Roman Polak.

A native of the Czech Republic, Polak, 28, played 72 games with the Blues last season, notching four goals and nine assists.

Gunnarsson, 27, had three goals and 14 assists in 80 games with the Leafs.

Polak has two years left on a contract that pays him $2.75 million per year.

More to come.
