Will the Maple Leafs be sellers prior to the National Hockey League trade deadline on Wednesday at 3 p.m.?

No.

Buyers? Not necessarily.

The chances are better that the Leafs won’t be doing much of anything before the NHL trade doors close for another season. There could be some depth added up front (hello, secondary scoring) or on the blue line, as the signs in recent days point to those being the kind of deals the Leafs might do, if anything at all.

General manager David Nonis is on record as saying that he does not anticipate any major deals from his corner, and Leafs management has stressed time and again that it will not be in the business of renting players for the final 19 games of the regular season and into the playoffs.
