TORONTO - It’s no secret, Nazem Kadri is a frustrating enigma.

He tantalizes with his skill one night, he disappoints the next.

Is he as good as he appears when he is on his game? Or as mediocre when he disappears for long stretches of time?

The jury is still out, but over the past eight games or so the young centre is showing what he can be, what the Maple Leafs need him to be for the team to be successful.

Kadri helped set up three goals on Thursday night at the Air Canada Centre as the Leafs romped over the Florida Panthers 6-3.

“It’s probably the best game he has played in a long time,” coach Randy Carlyle said at his post-game press conference.

“And it was at both ends of the rink ... He was distributing the puck, he was making some big-league plays.”
