WINNIPEG - Randy Carlyle’s plan for his goaltenders is fairly simple.

Sort of.

The Maple Leafs will conclude a four-game trip on Saturday when they face off against the Winnipeg Jets at the MTS Centre and, as usual, Carlyle refused on Friday to say whether Jonathan Bernier or home-province favourite James Reimer — who, it appears, will get the nod — would start against a Jets team that has rediscovered competitive hockey under new coach Paul Maurice.

The recent spate of starts for Bernier suggests strongly that the former Los Angeles King is the Leafs’ bona fide No. 1 guy. But Carlyle, who has 29 games to ensure his team stays in a playoff spot, remains a fan of Reimer, too.
