Nazem Kadri, in his mind, has put in too much time and effort as a Maple Leaf to see it all go spinning down the drain in the form of a trade out of town.

“Absolutely, it would be terrible,” Kadri said on Friday.

“I don’t see it happening and I don’t want it to happen. This is my home, this is where I want to be, until otherwise, I am going to give them everything I have.”

The 23-year-old can give plenty more. And, he knows, it’s about time it started to happen the form of consistent production.

When the Leafs play host to Canadian Olympians-to-be Carey Price and P.K. Subban and the rest of the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night at the Air Canada Centre, Kadri will drag into the game a bumpy streak that has seen him record just one goal and four assists in his past 15 games.
