PITTSBURGH - Sidney Crosby has been through this (bleepin’) HBO 24/7 stuff before.

As a result, he just smiled on Monday when told of some of the backlash the Maple Leafs’ Joffrey Lupul has absorbed for dropping a handful of F-bombs during a scrap with Los Angeles Kings defenceman Slava Voynov, an incident that was captured by the HBO microphones and shown during the first episode of 24/7 this past weekend.

“Hey, I had some bleeps myself when I was on the show,” a chuckling Crosby told the Toronto Sun.

Crosby, of course, was one of the stars of the 2010 HBO 24/7 series that led up to the 2011 Winter Classic between his Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals on Jan. 1, 2011 at soggy Heinz Field.

This time around, the omnipresent HBO cameras are following the Leafs and Red Wings prior to their epic New Years Day clash in front of 107,000 fans at the Big House, Ann Arbor’s Michigan Stadium.
