One of the best parts of the renewed Maple Leafs-Boston Bruins rivalry is Reimer versus Rask.

And some nights there’s not a lot to choose between the two goalies. Tuukka Rask made the saves that counted last spring when the Bruins won the playoff series, but he and James Reimer both had .923 save percentages after the seven games.

And both entered Saturday at a healthy .942, ranking in a tie for fifth in the National Hockey League. Rask faced 34 to Reimer’s 33 on Saturday, with an empty-net goal coming into play.

“He’s a real good goaltender,” said Reimer of the one-time Leaf prospect. “He obviously proved it last year.

“It makes for a good battle. Unfortunately, they got the better of us tonight. I like the way we competed. Next game, it can be a different story.”
