Devils or demons?

Maple Leafs goalie James Reimer was asked what his choice would be if Randy Carlyle does the expected and splits this weekend’s assignments against the New Jersey Devils and Boston Bruins between himself and Jonathan Bernier.

The Devils are one of those conference rivals Reimer has done well against, with a record of 4-1-0-2 and a .937 save percentage. Only Ottawa has yielded better numbers in the conference for the Leaf goalie since coming aboard in 2009-10.

But like every Leaf with a black B branded on their brain, Reimer wants to get back to TD Garden and atone for what happened in Game 7 of the playoffs last season. The Leafs were on the verge of coming back from a 3-1 series deficit until a late-game collapse and overtime loss. Doesn’t exorcising those ghosts take precedence for him?
