For a while Thursday night, the Leafs thought they might have figured this thing out.

For a while, it looked as though they might consider adding a little shut-down defence to an act that to that point of the season had been playing to great success.

A 6-1 record the Leafs toted into the Air Canada Centre for a date with the Carolina Hurricanes was well documented to have been less than pretty in spots. Live and learn, but keep on winning was the challenge.
