TORONTO - Out with the oldest.

And in with the youngest?

There was no official word from the Maple Leafs on Sunday, but 19-year-old defenceman Morgan Rielly appears to have cracked the lineup to start the regular season.

And 32-year-old John-Michael Liles, to no surprise, was put on waivers. Liles has not been in the long-range plans of coach Randy Carlyle going back to last season, and barely got a whiff in the pre-season to change Carlyle’s mind. The Leafs tried, but failed, to trade Liles, and his contract was the major reason why.
