TORONTO - James Reimer should be the Maple Leafs’ starting goaltender in Montreal on Tuesday night.

Never mind that Jonathan Bernier will earn $800,000 US more than Reimer in 2013-14.

Reimer has been the better netminder in the Leafs’ camp. As such, he has won the right to start when the regular season begins against the Canadiens.

But does Leafs coach Randy Carlyle agree?

“I think both of our goalies have played well,” Carlyle said after Reimer made 24 saves in a 3-1 victory against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night in Toronto’s pre-season finale.
