Nazem Kadri felt great on Friday.
Ben Scrivens? Not as much.
Kadri finds himself in eighth place in NHL scoring and in eighth place in plus-minus.
“The goals and assists are great and all, but the plus-19 really stands out for me,” Kadri said. “It is the stat I am most impressed (with). I think I have made some definite leaps since the first time I got here in that department.”
Kadri is plus-19 in 31 games. He also has 13 goals and 20 assists. Hard to believe there might have been a time when he was going to be traded to the Vancouver Canucks in a package to bring goalie Roberto Luongo to Toronto.
Scrivens was one of a handful of Leafs on the ice for an optional skate at the MasterCard Centre, along with Joffrey Lupul (who has one game left to serve on a two-game suspension, Colton Orr, Ryan Hamilton, Frazer McLaren and Mike Kostka.
