TORONTO - Police have made two more arrests in an illegal betting probe and warrants have gone out for three more suspects including Hiesam Kadri, reportedly the uncle of Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri.

“The arrests are the third phase of the investigation into illegal gaming and Platinum Sportsbook,” Supt. Keith Finn, of the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU), said in a release.

The first six arrests came on Feb. 3, when officers from CFSEU and assisting agencies raided a Super Bowl event in Markham, Ont.

Those arrested were charged with gaming-related offences and 10 search warrants were executed throughout the Greater Toronto Area and London, Ont., with more than $2.5 million in cash being seized.
