TORONTO - At age 72, Dave Keon stopped worrying long ago how his self-imposed estrangement from the club might dim the fans’ perception of his place in team history.
Unfortunately, that was the impression from Saturday night, as 10 members of the 1963 Leafs were wheeled out in blue and white Mustang convertibles. Applause for Johnny Bower, George Armstrong and Eddie Shack was far louder than for Keon, considered the best Leaf in an era of four Stanley Cups, if not any generation, and making just his second official visit to the Air Canada Centre.
