NHL Playoffs: BOS @ NYR

Former Leaf Luke Schenn back at ACC
By LANCE HORNBY, QMI Agency

The Schenn family just had its long-awaited hockey reunion, with parents Jeff and Rita heading to Philadelphia to see sons Luke and Brayden finally playing on the same team. Mom and dad flew out from Saskatchewan for a nine-day stay.

A couple of years ago, they had to make separate trips to Los Angeles and Toronto, before the youngest son Brayden was traded to the Flyers. Luke joined him in June, but the lockout prevented an official celebration until now.

Given their divergent draft teams, Luke had figured it would be late in their careers before playing on the same club would be possible.

“We thought maybe it would come down the road when we had the (unrestricted free agency) flexibility to make it happen,” Luke said. “But for it to happen in Philadelphia is a dream come true for both of us."

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
