Grabovski awaits NHL ruling

The quest to find the tooth behind the Mikhail Grabovski-Max Pacioretty incident will begin Monday morning.

That’s when the NHL will hold a hearing to review the alleged bite that that Maple Leaf Grabovski put on his Canadiens counterpart during a Saturday night scrum. The 11 a.m. phone session was moved from Sunday for unspecified reasons, but could leave Toronto without its second-line centre for Monday night’s home game against the Flyers if there is an unfavourable ruling.

But Toronto coach Randy Carlyle still believes his player won’t be disciplined.

“I’m very confident,” Carlyle said Sunday. “Did you look at the video? Bottom line, it’s got to be conclusive, right?”

In the melee that came late in the Leafs’ 6-0 win, Pacioretty reached from behind and put his arm across Grabovski’s mouth and face, trying to yank his helmet off. That put his exposed limb right in prime position near the Leaf’s overbite and a second later, he pulled it away and showed what
