TORONTO - Leafs goalie Ben Scrivens got back-to-back starts to open the season before being pulled in a home loss to the Islanders on Jan. 24.
James Reimer has taken over since then, but there’s a good chance Scrivens will get the call this week, possibly as early as tonight on the road against Washington.
The Leafs are in Winnipeg on Thursday and a likely scenario would see Reimer return to the cage for a start against the Jets in his home province.
Scrivens says he is ready when that call comes, but will keep working until then.
“Right now, my practices have to be almost my game situation. You have to prepare the same way. I’m trying to do my part in practice. That’s my role right now,” he said.
Along with supporting his teammate.
