TORONTO - A team owned by two broadcast giants had a complaint about the programming on a cold Monday night.
The Maple Leafs lost 4-1 to the Carolina Hurricanes, but felt the game could have taken a much different turn had Tyler Bozak’s goal been allowed to stand in the second period. Instead of tying the game 2-2, the play went to video review where it was judged the Toronto centre made a kicking motion to help direct the Mike Kostka's shot past goalie Cam Ward. If so, it was certainly open to interpretation, but the bottom line was it was the Leafs’ second loss in 72 hours at home with only one goal to show in both.
