Leafs cut Rielly, Frattin

Stand down, Leafs Nation.

The Maple Leafs aren’t going to rush defenceman Morgan Rielly.

Rielly and forward Matt Frattin were the final cuts on Friday as coach Randy Carlyle pared his roster to 23 players.

Rielly didn’t look out of place during camp this week. But the fifth overall pick last June was sent back to Moose Jaw of the Western Hockey League anyway, which, in the short term, is just fine.
