Randy Carlyle knows what his lineup will look like on Saturday night. He’s just not willing to share that information.

It took just four days of practice for the coach to determine there was no place for Matthew Lombardi and Tim Connolly, all $7.5 million worth of them. And the scratch pad that Carlyle carries around with him — for making lines, then crossing them out, then making them again — can rest for at least a day.

His lines to start the season have been made.

“It’s in my mind already,” said the coach after Thursday’s practice. “It’s done.”
