TORONTO - Nazem Kadri stood on one side of the Maple Leafs dressing room on Wednesday at the MasterCard Centre, ensuring all who were listening that he is ready to take a full-time spot on the club’s roster.

Across the room, Morgan Rielly held forth with reporters as well, but was more trying to wrap his head around the fact that Randy Carlyle already had trusted him enough to partner him with captain Dion Phaneuf.

Reporters hung on every word of both. That’s not going to change any time soon, not when the two are first-round selections with plenty of potential.

After benching Brad Richards should the New York Rangers eventually just buy him out?
  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
  No.
  Not sure.
