The Maple Leafs are back!

TORONTO - The Maple Leafs were back where they belong on Sunday afternoon.

And captain Dion Phaneuf couldn’t have been happier.

“We have definitely missed being around the room, missed the game,” Phaneuf said before the Leafs had their first practice at the MasterCard Centre. “Now we are back, everyone is excited, antsy to get going. It has been a long process since the deal was agreed upon (unofficially early last week). We have been waiting to officially start and now we are here. Great day for hockey and we are looking forward to getting it going.”

Randy Carlyle, in his first camp as Leafs head coach, made clear what he expects in the days before the Leafs open the 48-game regular season on Saturday in Montreal against the Canadiens.

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
  Yes, he's perfect
  No, he's not ready
  Bring him to Montreal!
