Leafs coach Carlyle won't start van Riemsdyk at centre

TORONTO - Randy Carlyle has big plans for a small training camp — and they don’t include starting James van Riemsdyk at first-line centre.

At his first full media briefing since the NHL lockout ended, the Maple Leafs head coach said he would bring 30 or less players to the MasterCard Centre, whenever teams get the green light to begin workouts.

That should be no later than Monday, as the league has told teams to expect a Jan. 19 start to a likely 48-game schedule.

Would Seattle be a good city for the NHL to relocate to?
Yes, it'd be a great market.
  Maybe, who knows.
No, they should go to Quebec instead.
