Leafs take watching paint dry to a whole new level
By QMI Agency

Maple Leafs offer fans a chance too ... watch paint dry?

Some have suggested watching the Toronto Maple Leafs play is about as exciting as watching paint dry.

Well, the Leafs took that whole paint drying thing to a whole new level Wednesday.

In an effort to cure insomnia — or get some of the ultra-extreme diehards excited about the NHL season that might not happen — the Leafs posted a live-streaming video link on their website that allowed viewers to, wait for it, watch paint dry.

Not just any paint, mind you. The Leafs logo being painted on the ice at the Air Canada Centre.

Clearly, somebody at MLSE had a sense of humour about the whole thing and it isn't, in fact, a sad commentary on what the team really thinks of Leafs Nation.

The headline on the video link screamed (tongue in cheek, we hope) “Watch Paint Dry Live!” so they were up-front about the content, rather than trying to disguise it as Leafs highlights from last season.

The really odd thing, though, was someone at the head office didn’t offer the drying ice video as a pay-per-view.

Would Seattle be a good city for the NHL to relocate to?
Yes, it'd be a great market.
  Maybe, who knows.
No, they should go to Quebec instead.
