Liles an NHL Foundation Player Award finalist

Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman John-Michael Liles was named Monday as one of three finalists for the NHL Foundation Player Award.
Liles, Mike Fisher of the Nashville Predators and Matt Moulson of the New York Islanders were nominated for the award the NHL hands out to recognize players who show a commitment to community work.
Liles supported a number of initiatives during his first season with the Leafs, including Liles' Buds that was a partnership with The Canadian Safe School Network. He also made a donnation to First Book Canada that bought 5,000 books.
Fisher developed a relationship with a number of non-profit organizations in the Nashville area while Moulson, a Mississauga native, created the 326 Foundation along with his brother-in-law, Jonathan Quick of the Los Angeles Kings, and teamed up with the Wounded Warrior Project and Hockey Fights Cancer.
