TORONTO - Windsor Spitfires winger Kenny Ryan signed a three-year entry level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs Thursday. Ryan, a 19-year-old American from Franklin Village, Mich., was the Leafs’ second pick, 50th overall, in the 2009 entry draft. He scored 21 goals and added 37 assists in 60 games with the Spitfires during the 2010-11 OHL regular season. He added four more goals and 12 points through 18 playoff games this spring. The 6-foot, 210-pound right winger spent two seasons with the USA Hockey National Team Development program prior to joining the Spitfires in 2009-10, where he won a Memorial Cup. Ryan scored 14 goals and 35 points that initial first season with Windsor. |
