Phaneuf watching the scoreboard
By TERRY KOSHAN, QMI Agency

DETROIT — Yes, Leafs Nation, your heroes are living and dying with you — when it comes to watching the scoreboard.

“You have to be aware of what’s going on,” captain Dion Phaneuf said. “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t watching what was going on. But if teams you are chasing win, you aren’t on the floor saying it’s the end of the world. We know what is going on as a group. Our destiny is we have to win our games.”

Clarke MacArthur said when it comes to the results of games that involve teams close to the Leafs in the standings, Phaneuf is the most emotional.

The Buffalo Sabres played host to the Florida Panthers on Friday night.

“If Buffalo wins, he will come in kicking the trash can,” MacArthur said.
