Leafs' Armstrong out with broken foot
TORONTO -- Toronto Maple Leafs forward Colby Armstrong will likely miss the remainder of the season with a broken foot.
Armstrong suffered the injury when he was hit in the foot with a shot in Monday's 6-2 loss to Tampa Bay
The 28-year-old, who was signed on July 1 to a three-year contract worth a reported $3 million, posted just eight goals and 23 points in 50 games this season.
In response, the Leafs recalled forward Nazem Kadri from Toronto of the American Hockey League. Kadri, 20, notched six assists in 17 games this year with the big club.
Defenseman Mat Lashoff was also recalled from the AHL after clearing re-entry waivers. Lashoff, a former first-round pick of the Bruins in 2005, has yet to play in the NHL this season.
Toronto also inked defensive prospect Jake Gardiner to a three-year, entry- level contract.
