Leafs' Reimer the man of Morweena
By LANCE HORNBY, QMI Agency

TORONTO - James Reimer has put Morweena on the map.

Morweena, Man., to be exact, a small Mennonite farming community an hour and a half drive north of Winnipeg, population 150. As of Saturday’s loud pre-game intro for the goalie at the ACC against the Buffalo Sabres, public address announcer Andy Frost went with Reimer’s preference of Morweena as his hometown, not his birthplace of Winnipeg.

“I didn’t request they change it myself, but I know (Leafs TV host) Paul Hendrick had mentioned it to someone,” the ever-polite Reimer said. “Yes, I heard (Frost) say it and it sounded great. We’re country folk and people from that part of Manitoba want to be different from Winnipeg.”

A Google search of Morweena doesn’t reveal much except its location and that it was the hometown of the longtime provincial politician Peter Masniuk. Reimer, who turns 23 on Tuesday, now has almost as many internet mentions as Masniuk.

Would Seattle be a good city for the NHL to relocate to?
Yes, it'd be a great market.
  Maybe, who knows.
No, they should go to Quebec instead.
