TORONTO - A waffle throwing Toronto Maple Leafs fan has had criminal charges against
him dropped.
Leafs fan Joe Robb, 31, was charged with mischief to property on Dec. 20
after he threw waffles onto the ice at the Air Canada Centre while the Leafs
were playing Atlanta.
“I love it man. I don’t think I should have been charged at all. People
praise them and throw roses on the ice and don’t get thrown out. You should
be able to show your frustration as well,” Robb said.
“Facing a criminal record for throwing waffles is a joke.”
Robb was given five hours of community service.
“There is a little sports place near my house where kids play soccer so
maybe I can do something there,” he said.
But Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment still plans to ban Robb from their
venues for life.
“If I go there I could be charged with trespassing. I'm going to call them to
see if we can work something out,” he said.
