Giguere to see specialist

TORONTO - Jean-Sebastien Giguere's groin troubles are serious enough to consult a specialist.

General manager brian burke said the 33-year-old goaltender will be examined on Monday, but gave no details of whether the Giguere will have to go out of town for the consultation. For at least the third time this season, Giguere has experienced pain that took him out of the lineup, leaving Thursday's loss against the Flames in calgary after giving up four goals in two periods.

With only one game before a five-day christmas break, the Leafs will use Jonas Gustavsson on Monday against the atlanta Thrashers, backed by James reimer. Starting boxing day in new Jersey, the Leafs play every second night until Jan. 3.

"It's a tough situation to be out, to be in, be out, be in, so it's important that he fix this," Gustavsson said on Sunday. "I don't know how long he'll be out. I'm just thinking about my own game."

After benching Brad Richards should the New York Rangers eventually just buy him out?
  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
  No.
  Not sure.
