Leafs' Phaneuf suffers cut to leg

Toronto - Toronto Maple Leafs star defenceman Dion Phaneuf left Tuesday's loss to the Vancouver Canucks with a leg injury.

Phaneuf apparently suffered a cut on his left leg during the second period and needed help getting to the dressing room.

"He has a cut on his leg," said Maple Leafs coach Ron Wilson. "It was deep enough that they wanted to take him to the hospital to determine the extent of the injury."

Phaneuf, who is the team captain, was traded to the Leafs last season from Calgary. So far in 2010-11, Phaneuf has four assists with a minus-6 rating in 10 games.

The Vancouver Canucks should replace ex-coach Alain Vigneault with...
  Guy Boucher.
  Lindy Ruff.
  Andy Murray.
  Jacques Martin.
  Brent Sutter.
  Don Hay.
  Other.
