Clarke MacArthur has found a new home in Toronto.
The unrestricted free agent forward inked a one-year contract with the Maple Leafs on Saturday after beginning last season with the Buffalo Sabres before a trade sent him packing to the Atlanta Thrashers.
The deal with the Leafs is believed to be for $1.1 million US, well short of the $2.4 million MacArthur was awarded in arbitration, and from which the Thrashers walked away from.
"We are pleased to add a forward with size and a scoring touch," said Leafs general manager Brian Burke.
The 25-year-old MacArthur began last season with the Sabres before being traded March 3 to Atlanta in exchange for the Thrashers' third and fourth round picks in the 2010 entry draft. In 81 games between Buffalo and Atlanta, the 6-foot, 190-pound left winger registered a career-high 35 points with 16 goals and 19 assists.
For his career, MacArthur has scored 44 goals and 88 points in 208 NHL games.

MacArthur has experienced success as a junior hockey player, winning the WHL championship with the Medicine Hat Tigers in 2004 and a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2005 world junior championship.
