Van Ryn to miss season, again

The long, frustrating convalescence of Maple Leafs defenceman Mike Van Ryn has hit another road block.

The team announced Wednesday that the London, Ont., native will sit out the entire 2010-11 season as he continues to recover from knee surgery which wiped out all of last season as well.

The 31-year-old has been rehabbing his left knee after undergoing an osteotomy (knee re-alignment) on October 22, 2009. Van Ryn became a Leaf in September 2008 after being acquired in a deal with the Florida Panthers.

After benching Brad Richards should the New York Rangers eventually just buy him out?
  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
  No.
  Not sure.
