NOT SOON ENOUGH

The exterior of the Consol Energy Center -- which will become the Penguins' new home next season -- is mostly finished. The rink is across the street from Mellon Arena.

Word has it the capacity will be 18,087 and plans are for 66 suites in honour of two of the famous numbers in franchise history.

The Leafs made their final visit to Mellon Arena on Sunday, and goalie J-S Giguere won't miss the rink.

"I'm happy they have a new rink," Giguere said with a pause. "They have great history here, but tonight the ice wasn't too good. It's time to move on to the 21st century."

MONSTER MAN

Jonas Gustavsson is two games away from the club record of nine, held by Felix Potvin (1993), Jacques Plante (1971) and John Roach (1925). Gustavsson is expected to start Tuesday night against Atlanta.
