Who Recruited Who?
Tyler Bozak ignored peer pressure.
Otherwise he might be in an Ottawa Senators jersey right now.
When choosing which team he would join a year ago, Bozak whittled down his list of 27 to two -- the Leafs and Senators.
Bozak was receiving serious pressure to pick the Sens from Patrick Weircioch, his former University of Denver teammate and a second-round pick of Ottawa in 2008.
In the end, Bozak picked the Leafs.
What's interesting is how Bozak eventually managed to peel down the large number of interested parties.
Bozak and agent Wade Arnott of Newport Sports put together a questionnaire that was handed out to various executives, general managers and assistant GMs of those teams who were trying to woo him.
"We came up with a list of questions and it helped us (produce) a list of pros and cons about the teams," Bozak said.
"We did (the interviews) right until the end of the season.
"Then, in a week or so, I had my decision made."
Rookie goalie Jonas Gustavsson is on a roll right now, having won his past three starts heading into the Leafs' game Tuesday against the Ottawa Senators at Scotiabank Place.
"He's played very well," coach Ron Wilson said. "He's confident again.
"He's knows he's going to play, no matter what."
Gustavsson is scheduled to become a restricted free agent at the end of the 2009-10 season.
