KINGSTON -- Having grown up honing his hockey skills on the outdoor rink at Riverdale's Withrow Park, Maple Leafs prospect Jesse Blacker certainly developed some pretty impressive wheels.

And they were on display this week at Kingston's K-Rock Centre, where he won the fastest skater competition at the Ontario Hockey League's all-star game Skills Competition with a blazing lap time of 15.05 seconds.

"I actually thought I might wipe out in the corner because I stumbled a bit," Blacker said prior to Wednesday's all-star game.

Blacker, a defenceman with the Owen Sound Attack, was selected in the second round (58th overall) by the Leafs in the 2009 entry draft.

Having started the 2009-10 season with the defending Memorial Cup champion Windsor Spitfires, Blacker soon asked for a trade and was accommodated by Spits management.

"Nothing against the coaching staff in Windsor. They were very good. I just felt a change was good for me," Blacker said.

"Owen Sound is a great hockey town. I'm having a great time."

Blacker, who has 29 points in OHL play this season, registered an assists for the western conference in a 17-10 loss in the all-star game Wednesday.
