HELP FOR HAITI
A reminder that the Leafs will be undertaking fund-raising efforts for Haitian relief during Tuesday's home game against the Kings. Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd. employees will be on hand throughout the ACC collecting cash donations for UNICEF.
"The events in Haiti have been devastating and have a tremendous impact on the entire world," MLSEL president Richard Peddie said in a release. "We know that many of our fans have been personally affected by this tragedy. We are lucky to have the support of the best fans in the world. If they get behind this cause with the same passion that they support our four teams, we should be able to do some amazing things together."
The Raptors and Marlies have already had collection nights.
Tomas Kaberle was asked by a Florida TV station on Saturday to comment on ex-partner Bryan McCabe approaching 1,000 NHL games: "A thousand games," Kaberle marvelled. "That's a lot of pre-game meals." ... Marlies' forward Greg Scott is on a five-game point streak and, since joining their lineup on Friday, Tim Brent has two goals and an assist in three games ... Toronto has not been shut out by Tuesday's opponent, the L.A. Kings, at home since Mario Lessard did it on March 2, 1981.
